Transfer of Residence

The Transfer of Residence (ToR) form (Customs C&E 1076) lets individuals returning to Ireland—e.g. from Canada or Australia— Which may allow you to claim relief from import duties, VAT, and VRT when bringing personal effects and vehicles. To qualify, you must have lived abroad for at least 12 months, owned your goods for at least 6 months, and import them within a 12‑month window of your move.
