Why a Representative Form is Required

In order for a customs broker to act on your behalf when dealing with Revenue, you must provide formal authorisation. This is done by submitting a Representative Form to Revenue. This form confirms that you, as the importer or exporter, have appointed the broker to handle customs declarations and related matters on your behalf.

Without this authorisation, Revenue will not recognise the broker’s authority to act for you, which may result in delays or rejected declarations. Submitting the Representative Form ensures that your customs broker can manage your declarations efficiently and in full compliance with Irish customs regulations.
